Sad & Broken

I'm sad and heart-broken. Since 2 days ago. I never thought this would happen and I wouldn't have thought the price to pay was this much. It has always been my loved possession and now I know that loosing something you love could be so devastating.

As I walked to the shop, my heart felt like a ride on a roller coaster. What if they couldn't fix it? Then I would have to part with it. Oh, no.... that would be the worst scenario I'll be facing.

Smiling faces greeted me as I approached the glass counter. I knew they were waiting to prowl on me like a pack of hungry wolves not eaten for a day. Sorry that I have to disappoint but I'm here to get my broken Tiffany & Co earrings fixed and I would be ass-happy if you guys tell me that it can be done.

My broken heart....

Of course it can be fixed! But at a price. It was a bloody RM180 to fix the broken needle thin rod at the back of the heart which I accidentally broke it. That's how much you pay for carelessness. A new pair costs me RM375 and I told them that perhaps I should get another pair and then I would have 1 extra as a spare for future mishaps.

That's how sad and how broke I am now.... Didn't know that mending a broken heart can be so expensive.

But nothing feels better than a complete heart.

I think there is a purpose why they charge high.. so you will choose to buy new 1.. and if you still prefer to fix.. what the hack for them...they still earned.. >_<

Well this happens in Boleh Land, every damn thing are being charge.
If you are aboard they will happily do it for free or a fraction of the cost of the purchase price that will not cost you an arm or a leg.

If I were them, I would also have a big smile on my face. Hahaha!

Mending a broken heart for that amount is worth it .. mending a real broken heart is more painful.. ouch!

When is your birthday ?

Anon: I don't really know. Maybe I should have taken it to an ordinary goldsmith.

Cumi & Ciki: haha... thanks babe.

Cath J: Yeah anyway also they will still earn my money. But Tiffany &Co should have given better service like free fixing since their jeweleries are already so expensive.

TY: I would have guess so. Here, the after sales service is just bad and they do not value long term customers!

Foongpc: Haha... so terrible!

Zewt: haha.. good one! Very true...

Reanaclaire: That's true also. I rather pay to mend a broken heart than suffer one that is un-mendable!

Anon: 2nd of Feb. Why?

It's Tiffany's, no less!!! Same with luxury cars!

P.S.:
Was in KL for two nights, but too caught up with my daughter's pre-departure briefing and taking her around to meet anyone. Sorry...

P.P.S.
Except for one - who dropped by the hotel while my daughter was having her nap in the room...and I was having a ciggy break outside the hotel on the five-foot way. Wonder how he could recognise me...even though we did not arrange to meet there and then! LOL!!!

If you are in the US, Tiffany provides alot of services for free. For example, my ring sizing will be done for free as it was a gift. The post on the back of the earring should *not* have broken off that easily. Technically, it means there's a defect in the product and in that case, they'll fix the item for you at no cost to you. However, since you are overseas, the fees they are charging you might be the shipping and insurance fees that it costs to send the item over to New York, where all Tiffany repairs are done.

Next time, save the money for a trip to the Big Apple. There is nothing, and trust me because I've been there many times, like shopping at the flagship Tiffany store. I was lucky enough to help my friend shop for an engagement ring there. They have an entire floor dedicated to diamonds. I "modeled" a 60,000USD ring for him.

Best.shopping.experience.ever.

STP: how come you don't even text me when you're in KL! So disappointed with you la.... Anyways, I am still sad over being broke and stupid not sending my earrings to a friend jeweller. Sigh...

August Diners: Haha.. but I already gave it to Tiffany to fix. Too late. Felt so stupid.

Anon: Wow, it must be a great experience. Here, the Tiffany boutiques are small. And how I wished I could be the recipient of a Tiffany diamond ring for my wedding! Jealous!!! I wished I would save enough money to fly to New York too!

The flagship store is on 5th Ave. and is HUGE. I should clarify, when I said the floor that is dedicated to diamonds I meant a floor for the diamond engagement rings/wedding bands. It's six floors of Tiffany & Co. you're dealing with on 5th Ave and it is pure heaven. Each floor is dedicated to a particular item - diamonds, silver, fine china, customer service, etc.

Now that you've explained that the Tiffany stores in Malaysia are small, I understand why they charged you so much. If you have not processed your repair order through them yet, I would suggest calling the main customer service number to see what can be done.

They actually sell "affordable" Tiffany engagement rings under 10,000USD. Yes, they're not 1 carat sized but they are still beautiful nonetheless.

Well, you may not have the big Tiffany flagship store but you have all those wonderful hawker stand and great Malaysian food that is impossible to find in the US. That is probably more valuable that a big Tiffany store, for sure! :)

Anon: I am so jealous! It must be an eye-popping experience but then again, I can only afford the cheap Tiffany's so I won't be able to enjoy the huge store. Btw, I have sent in the earrings to be fixed so there's nothing I can do now. So Sad...

Anon: Yeah, we are proud of our hawker fare and mamak stalls! Which I can eat till I die and yet cost less than my fixing fees.
