Other money making means...

One year ago when I bought this box of 12 Trinidad Reyes, it was only DHS250 (RM250) in Dubai and today it's DHS270! Habanos S.A has really increased its prices (as warned by my friend a month ago). He had told me to stock up my cigars as prices are going up by 10%. Gosh, it's really an expensive affair that I have with the wonder Cuban sticks.
In the KL cigar shops, this box can cost up to RM700 a box! Imagine the amount of money that I could make by just selling a box of this! Maybe I should invest in cigars in view of the rising prices every year.
Apart from that, I was tempted to invest in the 2008 vintage of some en primeur (first growths) of Bordeaux. Robert Parker has just rated the 2008 Bordeaux and Petrus appeared as the top followed by Lafite, Latour, Margaux, Mouton and so on. A bottle of this vintage might cost around RM800 now but who knows what price it will fetch in years to come?
According to my friends, the 2008 bottles will not be delievered to you until 18 months later and you can only get them from the wine merchants whom have been given an allocation by the Chateaus. Sounds complicated? Yes. That's why most of the rich don't bother in investing the wines. They just buy them as to where and when they want to drink it! And thus, there's a market for old wines!
Perhaps investing in wines and cigars is another means of making money?
Yes, why don't you invest in them and let us know if it's worth investing? ; )
an investment only for the rich perhaps...
Foongpc: I will. But probably I can only afford a few bottles! Lol...
Zewt: yes and only those who knows how to keep them!
Ya, my friend was in Labuan and he was telling me how expensive the cigars were. Nobody's into forex? I bought NZ$5,000 for my daughter for next year...at RM2.10 and it's now over RM2.30. Gee! I've made over RM1K... Too bad I can't sell as it's for my daughter's use. Tsk! Tsk! LOL!!!
but do they lasts? I know cigarettes have an expiry date
STP: I see... wow you're making extra money for your daughter already!
KY: Cigars with age get mellower, more refined. They lose some of their edginess, like fine wines. Some people even have 20 year old aged cigars and it's precious! Of course it does not apply to cigarette sticks. It's like how a bottle of Yellow Tail wine wouldn't make a difference even if it's 10 years old.
Yup, it would work for some people. Not me though. I am likely to smoke/drink them myself. :S
ppl who smoke in public whether or not with their own group of friends are selfish ppl who still disregards other patrons' health.
If u 1 to sign an earlier death warrant, do it on ur own pleasure. dun harm others with ur stinky second hand smoke. you do not look cool or stylish at all in your so-called "smoking with cigar" picture. In fact u look like a white sheet of death.
Down with all the death sticks suckers!! Hope they and u rot.
HB: Haha... expected.
Anon: Thanks for your concern. For your info, a smoker chose to smoke knowing all the consequences and it's their choice. As for me, I occasionly enjoy a cigar with my drinks in a group of friends who all smoke in a private room. We are considerate smokers and I don't smoke cigarettes or smoke on the streets btw! When I die, I will surely rot. I'll be very afraid if the body doesn't rot after death!
