Moet & Chandon
The much acclaimed Moet & Chandon brand needs no introduction as everyone would have known that Dom Perignon comes from the same group too! I must say that I'm embarrassed to reveal that despite I have been drinking bottles and bottles of DP, I actually haven't try Moet & Chandon range of champagnes.
Yesterday, I was fortunate enough to be invited by my friends to join them for a dinner for 10 organised by Riche Monde to try some wines & spirits under the LVMH group. We started with 2 bottles of M&C Brut Imperial, and then a bottle of Terrazas Reserva Chardonnay 2007, Clos Apalta, Cheval des Andes 2005, Cape Mentelle Cabernet Sauvignon 2005, and a bottle of Newton 2002 unfiltered Merlot from Napa Valley. The prices of these wines are not cheap, ranging from over a hundred ringgit to over RM200. However, I find the palate of these wines rather disappointing because it's short and lack of lingering tastes.
I thought it's supposed to be a champagne-filled-dinner but we ended up having a few whites and reds after the 2 bottles of M&C. One of my friends sneaked a bottle of Pauillac in. So naughty. We ended up enjoying the french wine rather than what was offered on the table! Spoilt!

cos u've been having it too good! :P
that is what makes it terrible. I'm a spoilt brat in the wines department.
Pairing of M&C with chilled strawberries is heavenly :)
Nice, got to get myself a bottle of Moet 1 of these days. I've been to Napa Valley wineries, did some wine tasting. The wine are so so only, not up to standard. Especially the red. The white is ok but nothing to brag about.
I wouldn't pay top $$ for napa wines. I'd rather go with aussie wines.
Muku: Really? Haven't try.
Ray7: Yeah I don't find Napa Valley wines appealing too. Aussie - I like Lake's Folly.
how's M&C?
but i think i'll like MC more lor. Mau Cuti.
I also like MC.. Hehe (money cash)
Eiling,
Do try the Moet & Chandon Rose. Had the grand vintage 2000 rose last week. The golden pink hue colour is superb. Very smooth, right balance of bubbles with hints of sweet raisins.
Mef: I know. The guy would have done a Moet & Chandon dinner with vinatge, non vintage and then the Rose. Hmmph!
