Chelsea in Malaysia

I am no football club fanatic but I did not want to miss the chance of seeing Chelsea live on last Tuesday, 29th at Shah Alam Stadium. I rather pay RM83 for the ticket here than fly over to Stamford Bridge to catch a glimpse of the Blues.

Honestly I'm pretty lazy to update because:
  1. Most of the time I don't know what's going on. I only know everyone is trying to possess the ball.
  2. Chelsea vs Malaysia, how interesting can it be right?
  3. It's just a friendly, why so serious?
  4. I don't know any players in the Malaysian team.
  5. I was busy snapping pictures.
So, if you prefer a more professional update, The Star provides better info.

I heard they expect a 40,000 strong crowd but 50,000 turned up.

Injury - no idea which chelsea player.

Lampard doing the free kick.

Cecil and Jon camwhoring

My turn to camwhore after the game ended

Well, I was glad that I came and I experienced a football match live at a stadium and not in front of the TV on the couch. The getting out of the stadium was hell because it took us 30 minutes waiting in line in the car just to get onto the main road. I was all sweaty and smelly but I've no complaints. We were also quite smart. At the first half, we were seated near the Malaysian goal knowing that there will be no action on Chelsea's side. During the second half, we moved to the other side, knowing too there will be no action at the other end. Haha. My 2cents worth for the game. The hero of the day would of course be our Malaysian goalkeeper! At least it's a 2-0 win over Malaysia (or Chelsea was really being friendly). Not too bad huh?

Nice jersey. I bought it when I was in London in Lily Whites and had it printed with his name and a significant number.

Why are you staring at my ass?!!

Can't wait for EPL to start.

Chelsea, Chelsea....

I was there at Shah Alam Stadium yesterday. Never have I been to a live football match and this is definitely an experience to me as I get to see John Terry, Frank Lampard and Petr Cech live! The getting into the stadium and getting out are the experiences I wouldn't like to repeat. Ok, will update on the story soon. By the way, Chelsea 2 - 0 Malaysia. Not too bad a score if you ask me. Better than a 7-0 or 5-0 anytime. My cherry popped for Chelsea.

Hairstyles Today Gone Tomorrow

I'm a person whom never stay with one hairstyle that is long enough for 365 days to whiz past. In fact over the years, I have been changing my hairstyle so often that my hair is getting shorter and shorter each day. It was indeed a funny thing that when I was a kid, mum would never allow me to have long hair as she claimed that I would be spending too much time combing and tying my hair and I would finish her shampoo very fast. Therefore, I have never had long hair until I was in Form 3. Only then I was allowed to have long hair and I of course was so delighted about her lifting the ban on the long hair. I had then left it uncut for more than 2 years. It grew until it past my shoulders and it was able to cover my uh-hum....

When I entered college, I still had my long hair but not for long. I had it cut until it just barely touched my shoulders. After a while, it grew back and I had it cut even much shorter. After that, the longest hair length I ever had barely touch my shoulders.

My past hairstyles

Not only I try to vary my hairstyles, I try to have different highlights too. I don't really like to dye my hair but I guess highlights just bring out certain hairstyles. I've always been on the safe side only trying on light brown and gold highlights fearing that my bosses will not be able to take it if I went into the office with a red head or worse pink hair!

Some new hairstyles I tried with my current hair

With my hairstyle now, not much I can do except to choose to let my hair loose or tuck them neatly behind my ears. Then there were some noob hairstyle I did like the picture in the middle where I try to hold them to one side using some wax like the 60s style. I really looked like a noob la!! If i add the glasses, I'll look like a geek - confirm! The first hairstyle was not practical because it only leaves me with one eyesight instead of two which means the left eye will always be under-utilised! The last one looked ok and it has been my hairstyle occasionally.

This is what I'll do when I attend a function. It looks much nicer after using some wax to hold up the hair so that the bangs wouldn't cover my eyes. It's a bit reddish now because my new hairstylist (whom used to be a consultant at Schwartzkopf) had used 3 colour tones for this hairstyle. The best thing is - she never even asked whether I'll like the colours and she just blob them onto my hair! but lucky she did a pretty good job - not too boring and not too attention grabbing as well.

As for my next hairstyle experiment, I want to go really short on the left side and keep my right side bangs. The best example to follow will of course be - Rihanna!!!

I really love the feeling of growing my hair to a certain length and then cut it real short. The feeling is really indescribable and after the haircut, you head will feel much lighter and it's a good feeling isn't it?!!

Since I'm already in the topic about legs, I just want to dwell on the fact on how you can enhance your legs by being a bit more adventurous. Besides taking care of your legs of course, you can start experimenting on some hosiery, stockings or tights. Well, if you are a first timer, you might want to know how you can choose a pair of suitable stockings. But let us first look at the history of stockings.

For the previous 400 years stockings had ruled supreme - ever since the knitting machine was invented in 1589 by Reverend William Lee and stockings made from wool, silk and cotton appeared for the first time. These early stockings were frequently referred to as hose, from which the term hosiery was derived, and were generally worn by men. Ooh, how interesting considering the fact that the men were the ones wearing the stockings first!

The stockings market was revolutionised by the change of fashions in the 20th Century when it became socially acceptable for women to show their legs. In recent years, although increasing numbers of women go bare legged, hosiery technology has developed considerably and a wide range of new products are now commonly available from body toning control top tights and thigh-highs (hold-ups) to moisturising and massaging tights.

So how do we go about buying a pair of hosiery? Here are the tips from the experts:

Step1 : Consider color. When in doubt, go with nude or black.

For subtle and a sexy style

Step2 : Consider texture and opacity.

Step3 : Consider whether you want pantyhose or stockings.

Wear pantyhose with short dresses and skirts, and with anything clingy. Stockings, especially the kind that stay up on their own, can be fun, sexy and more comfortable than pantyhose.

Step4 : Consider price vs. durability.

Good hose can be very expensive, but sometimes are worth it.
Remember the rule cheap no good, good no cheap. But if you plan to just wear it once or twice, then get the cheap ones la.

Step5 : Consider flair vs. subtlety.

Usually the right choice in stockings means no one will notice them. Occasionally, stockings can make a dramatic statement - a pattern or a seam up the back, for example. Use these judiciously as they can easily overwhelm an outfit.

For the flowery side of you

Well, they are also other things to consider. How about choosing the colour or pattern. You can also follow these guides:

Step 1 : Match your hemline.

If your dress is dark, dark hose are probably best. Go with black, navy or charcoal.

Pair a black hose with black Italian heels.

Step 2 : Match your shoes.

If your shoes are dark, your hose should be, too. If your shoes are dark and your hem is light (or vice versa), go with hose that match the color of your skin.

Step 3 : Match your skin.

Flesh-colored hose are fairly safe with all outfits. Strive for sheerness and invisibility. Avoid a tan shade unless you have the skin to match.

Step 4 : Consider going au natural.

No hose is often the best hose of all. If it's warm enough, go for it.

Step 5 : Take the middle ground.

Woven stockings, such as black or beige fishnets, can provide a nice solution to a challenging outfit. These hose offer coverage without masking your legs completely.

Maroon fish net stockings anyone?

Step 6 : Consider a bold statement.

A wacky pattern or bright color can help you bust out of your usual look. Just be aware of the message you are sending, though. Job interviews, weddings and first dates might not be the best times to try out a new look. For me it includes not trying bold styles for funerals, or meeting your date's parents and family.

From La Senza

So don't you think a little bit of accessories for the legs will spice up your day or your style? Let your legs sizzle the crowd. Let them stare at your legs that they stumbled and fall. Let them envy your style and best of all let them wonder where you got those hosiery. For me I like to get them from various stores. I will get the normal black or nude ones from departmental stores at about RM10, black tights from SoxWorld at less than RM25, and bold ones from Topshop which will cost around RM49-55. As for those on a sexy side, you can always go for garters and they're sexily available in La Senza. I have one in black, white and beige all from a good bargain during the FJ Benjamin Sales.

Myownstyle : Stockings from Topshop. Shoes from Guess.

What do you think about wearing this to work?!!

Leggy Beauty

Men can always stare at your cleavage and talk to your boobs all the time but most of the time they will never say no to a pair of immaculate and sexy pair of legs. And which is why I am going to magnify the importance of owning a pair of sexy legs. Walk down the street and see how many ladies are wearing miniskirts and hot pants nowadays. Why do they wear them?

The answer is simple - They too want to flaunt their legs. If you have it, why not flaunt it?!! All sorts of fashion become an ally if you have beautiful legs; be it in a mini-skirt or a long gown, the way you flaunt your legs becomes even more momentous if your legs are well-proportioned and spotless. That's why when you have big boobs, a top with low neckline is always a must so that it is visible even to the one who is blind!

Look at those legs.....

While not all women have beautiful faces like Angelina Jolie's, Jessica Alba and bla bla bla or have big boobs like Pamela Anderson, Carmen Electra and bla bla bla, a pair of sexy and flawless legs can still be yours if you are willing to take the necessary steps and the right amount of effort in taking care of the skin of your legs.

First, you have to realize that your beauty regimen should not be confined to your upper body parts. Obvious as it is, some women think that caring for their faces would be enough because after all people only look at your face when they talk to you (except some cases where they talked to the boobs). But having a beautiful face or shapely torso is hardly equated with having irresistible pair of legs. Therefore, you need to separately pamper your legs and not only focus on the face!

oggle oggle oggle

According to experts:

1. Moisturize All The Time

Having smooth and glowing skin on your legs is a direct result of adequately moisturizing them. Moisturizing your legs will make them feel soft and supple, enough to be described as silky. When choosing a moisturizer for your legs, always take into consideration the type of your skin to avoid unwanted reaction on your legs.

For me, I like to use moisturizer that are less oily because oily moisturizer tend to leave marks on the bedsheets when I applied them before I go to sleep. Therefore I'm now using the VMV HYPOALLERGENICS Illuminants Body Brilliance Hand and Body Lotion. It may also be used as an interim moisturizer on the face, neck, chest, and hands. Although it is not scented but I really like it because it's not oily and you can apply any fragrance after moisturizing without having to worry aboutthe blend of both scents.

2. Exfoliate And Buff Your Legs Regularly

The appearance of your legs can be affected by the layers of dead skin cells that are accumulating on them. This unhealthy layer can cause some skin problems and blemishes on your legs because dead skin cells can block the pores on your skin. So the answer is exfoliate, exfoliate and exfoliate. But don't overdo it.

You can go about this by using loofah or other soft abrasive materials that are specifically made for your skin. With exfoliating gels or just ordinary soap, you can gently rub these materials on your legs and, in the process, scrape off dead skin layers. After you have done the exfoliating part, remember to apply lotion to moisturize and give your legs a buff finish.

In my own opinion, exfoliating once a week would be enough. Too much of it will damage the skin I think. For body scrub, you can try some of the varieties at Body Shop like the fruity ones or the cocoa butter which is good for the skin. I like the smell of Body Shop Passion Fruit Body Scrub.

3. Nourish Them With Vitamins

As a new younger looking layer of skin takes the place of the scraped dead layer, you need to nourish your legs with vitamins that can strengthen and improve the health of the skin on your legs. The new skin layer can be more receptive and responsive to nourishment and any other leg treatment, hence always follow up the exfoliating and the buffing of your legs with the application of skin nutrients. Applications that are rich with vitamins A, B complex, C, and E are usually the best for your skin.

And since cocoa butter is good for the skin and chocolates is made of cocoa butter, I think I have to try spreading some chocolate onto my legs for leg therapy sessions. I have yet to try but I think it would be awesome to give it a go when I'm free to melt the chocolate. Anyone want to lick my legs?

4. Be Careful When Shaving

Unwanted hair growth on the legs can make them unsightly. This is why many women shave or wax their legs. But the problem with shaving is that, you can easily nick the skin of your legs if you are not too careful with the razor. What starts off as an attempt to make your legs look smooth and sexy can easily end up in bleeding cuts.

To prevent this from happening, always use top quality razors. And always take your time while shaving your legs; this way, you do not feel pressure so you have greater control of the razor.

Call me unadventurous or what, that's why I never use razors for my legs or anywhere! You can try Veet Cream & Mousses where you don't need to use any blade to remove the hair. Just apply the cream or spray on the mousse, after 3-6mins, wash it off and you're all done. For me I just use the 3 minute hair removal cream - it's cheap and fast. Considering the many times you'll be using it to remove the hair from your legs, the cheaper the better! Waxing however will give you a longer period before the hair grows back but use it only if you can stand the pain. Well, I haven't wax my legs before so I wouldn't know but somewhere else where the sun couldn't shine, you can ask me. Not that painful la!

Ooh La La - where can I get this?

I was just asking around this afternoon whether what turn guys on. Was it the FACE, BOOBS or LEGS? Well as many have said LEGS but I couldn't believe that BOOBS come in last! Either they are embarrassed to admit it or boobs really aren't important attractive attributes at first sight. For me, I like to stare at people's legs especially when they're in shorts or mini skirts. It's just my usual way of checking them out and whether their shoes matched their clothes. Often I find people paying less attention to the legs and shoes and rather focus more on their faces with all the right make-up, earrings and other accessories....

Well, it's time to buck-up ladies. Show the guys your killer legs today by just paying a little more attention to the legs and which I would like to advice the ladies not to shop or cheap and uncomfortable shoes for the sake of fashion. A good pair of shoes should not leave unsightly marks on the feet. I have had shoes that cuts my skin especially slightly above the heel spot and I always get scolding from my dad who strictly warn me to take care of my legs and to make sure they are free from scars.

My new shopping harvest

I love shoes. I really love beautiful and sexy shoes. I have also added a new pair of NINE WEST to my shoe cupboard. That was my first pair from Nine West which I've got at a very good bargain. Right now I have a collection of 3 pairs of Aldo (my fav), 3 pairs of Zara, 1 pair of Guess, and half a dozen from Vincci. Another good thing to splurge on expensive shoes is that the shoe tends to last longer. I have a number of cheap shoes that lasts me only for a month or so! The most important criteria of choosing a shoe is that it complements the feet rather than the feet trying to accommodate the shoes!

How do you like my new silettos?

I don't know how comfortable Nine West will be until I test it out. And I still haven't have found an occasion to wear them out! But I do know the heels looked great. Moreover I have no grey shoes so I'm not guilty for splurging on them!

They are not exactly the best pair of legs or the most beautiful pair but they are my legs and I'm proud of them!!!

More legwhore pics....

Now doesn't it make you wonder whether you should start taking care of your legs now?
Show the men what you've got!!!

Phua Chu Kang says

I was listening to the Mix FM this morning on the way to work and as usual, they have a slot where Phua Chu Kang (Gurmit Singh) would have a session with Serena C or Pietro talking about everything under the sun. This particular morning he was talking about what we can do when we are running out of money.

First Scenario:

If you don't have money/transport to the destination.....

Just go to any car showroom and ask for a test drive. Drive yourself to the destination and then pretend that you have a stomachache that you have to get out of the car and ask the agent to drive the car back himself.

WTF?!! Good idea though but I don't think I'll be using this tactic anytime soon.

Second Scenario:

If you don't have money to eat.....

Just go to any restaurant and order what you want and eat as much as you can until the last dish.... then take out the cockroach and place it in the food and call the manager.

After all there are over 4000 restaurants in KL and you could try each different outlet everytime.

Haha...Just one more advice from Phua Chu Kang though - "Don't use the same crockroach!"

I don't think I'll ever use this tactic also just to get free food. Maybe some seducing moves like blinking of the eyelids or maybe some hair tossing, and a show of cleavage will do for ladies?!! If it's still not working, break down and cry!

My advice :
If you still plan to live in KL and work here, you better not try any of the above.

Hennessy Artistry @ Bukit Kiara

The latest Hennessy Artistry @ Bukit Kiara 25th July 2009. Click here.

It's getting bigger and bigger. I remembered having my first taste of Hennessy Artistry events starting with Velvet in Zouk and moving on to Aloha in KL and now, Bukit Kiara Indoor Arena. The string of Hennessy Artistry events were indeed happening, not to mention the free flow of Hennessy Miami, and Shanghai all night long! This time, even the guest celebrities/performers were of class boosting people like Flo Rida, Machi, DJ Latin Prince, Pop Shuvit and guest celebrity like Utt was also there!

My First Taste at Velvet

My invitation was thanks to Greg whom has friends working with Spiral. The venue was appropriate with enough space for us to party. It was not as crowded as the previous events at the clubs. This one has enough space for you to move and shake, and even maybe doing a break dance or two.

Inside was impressive too. There were 3 spots for people to hang around - Hennessy KL, Hennessy Shanghai and Hennessy Miami. Those with VIP passes can access the slightly elevated platform in front of the 3 backdrops where others can hang around in the centre. There were also 2 or 3 bars so that people do not have to crowd at one place to wait for their drinks.

I had 10 glasses of these

I missed the first part of the performance. When I came at about 10pm, an in house DJ was spinning. After that, Pop Shuvit came up and sang a few songs. We were hanging around at Hennessy Miami which was a strategic location because it's very near to the stage. After Pop Shuvit, Machi came on and did their rap. Although 99% of what they rapped is of something I couldn't understand, the music was still good. I wasn't sure whether are they rapping in Cantonese, Mandarin or Hokkien?!! The one that steals the show had to be Flo Rida. I loved the last song they performed yesterday - LOW - Low, low, low, low low low low........

Managed to spot Shaolin Tiger taking photographs

I left the place at 1am as my sister wants to go home to sleep because she has to wake up early this morning for her usual music class on Sundays. I have had my 10 glasses of free Hennessy so it's time to hit home because I can feel the alcohol kicking in already. Was half drunk half conscious that I could still walk to the car and then took a shower before climbing onto the bed. I managed to meet some of my friends as I was leaving so it was not too bad after all. I also love the free Polaroid shots at Hennessy Artistry!

KY, Myself and My sisters

However, one incident left me being very unhappy - I lost one side of the earrings! I darn love the earrings I bought from East India Company and this is the first time I was wearing it out and I have to loose it! Damn.... Can't get the same pair anymore as that was the last pair on sale! How could I not realise that I dropped one of them?!!! How could I? Sob.. sob...

Hello Mr.Policeman, I want to report my missing earring. Could you please help me search for them?

Anyone seen my earrings or found it, please return it to me. Thanks.

Yiling's Graduation

It was a long awaited day. Finally the youngest daughter in the Lim family has finally graduated on 5th July 2008 from Inti College in the University of Hertfordshire 3+0 degree programme in Accounting. My younger sister also graduated from the same university in Marketing and I graduated 3 years ago from Business Administration. One after another have enrolled into Inti College Subang Jaya and one by one is graduating year by year. Indeed there were so much memories we had at the college and the Lim sisters (the name that referred to 3 of us) were indeed a part of college.

Receiving the degree from Tim Wilson, Vice-Chancellor of UH

To start off with, among the three of us, Yiling is the brightest in the family. Not only she managed to score with First Class in Accounting, she also grabbed the Leadership Award and also the Valedictorian for the big day - indeed a position that I would envy. I only managed a second upper class and grabbing the Leadership Award. Never had the chance to feel what would a first class graduate felt like or the feeling of delivering a valedictorian speech. How I wished I would have paid a li.......ttle bit more attention in class or perhaps write a li......tle bit faster in my finals. Sigh...

Delivering the Valedictorian Speech

My sister's speech was clear and easy to understand. It was also witty and not those typical boring speeches that only rants on and on about oneself. She spoke about her memories in Inti especially with her lecturers and friends. She remembered that there were lecturers that liked to laugh at her own jokes and she wished that the act of sending result sheets to the parents would be abolished! She did thanked dad and mum for the support and love, me and my younger sister for the experiences and guidance, Jon and Calvin for the inspiration and lecturers and classmates. At the end of her speech, she gave credits to my dad quoting what he used to tell us that "in whatever we do, we must do it with our heart, soul and mind. Do what you love and love what you do." With that when she ended her speech, my dad gave her the standing ovation - the very natural response from a proud parent. At that moment, everyone should know that he's ny sister's dad! LOL

My sister and her classmates throwing the mortar boards

College/university might just be a fraction or a minuscule chapter in our lives, but who who deny that indeed it might be the most memorable moments before we proceed to the world of working life. Getting the scroll and wearing the robes is just the beginning of a new path in life. Journey of a million miles begin with one step and if we never take that one step, we wouldn't know where it'll lead us. I am happy that I took the one step early and perhaps the right step and since then, I never look back. I would think in graduation ceremonies, the happiest people would be the parents because not only they are celebrating financial freedom, they are also happy to see their children growing up and moving on into the working world.

Me, Dad & Mum

Proud Dad & his eldest daughter

Happy Mum with Mr. Alex

Ziling, Calvin & Me

The Lim Sisters

Ms. Koh & Me

In fact the most memorable person in college would be Ms.Koh. Ever since I was the Vice-President of Intima (a student government body in Inti), I have been haunting her everyday. She has always been my source of the juciest gossips in the college because being the Student Affairs Director, she knew who was having an affair with who! Haha... it was one of the best times in my life going into the Student Affairs Office and disturb her everytime. It was my duties to go against the management an fight for the students' right and it was her duties to implement the management's decision so we had fun being head locked at each other! She was also a very good matchmaker. She found me my boyfriend whom was one of the alumni. Haha, but that's a story for another day. She has always been dictating whom I shall go out with and whom not to because she knew my standards and of course she hopes to get a profitable return when I get married....

Did anyone read The Star Education paper on last Sunday? Does the picture looked familiar? Haha... That's us - Sister Act. Read here if you missed the great news!
